We have been on the count down for the girls to start school and I can't believe the day finally came...it came way to quickly!
Where is time going? Abigail has been looking forward to starting preschool since the day she turned 3. She absolutely loved it and the first thing she said when I picked her up was, "I want to go to preschool everyday!" Thank goodness it is just Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-10:30. I miss her so much when she's gone!
The night before school we went out to frozen yogurt and when we came back the "School Fairy" had come. She brought the girls special things they may need for school.
The morning of kindergarten Gracie couldn't have been any happier. She came into my room at 6:30 saying, "Mommy, I get to go to kindergarten today". After snuggling for a little bit we went downstairs and ate breakfast together before Abigail woke up. She got all ready and even wore her backpack while she brushed her teeth and while she waited until it was time to go. It's so nice that her Elementary school is just right across the street making it convenient to walk. She was smiles the whole way there!
Grace is in the "early bird" class with Mrs. Provencher and goes from 8:05-11:55. I pick her up from the lunch room. I was so happy to see her sitting there with her friends and as happy as could be. The first thing she said to me was, "Mommy I want to stay longer, and when do I get to come back?" I loved hearing in detail all about her day. She told me she got to introduce herself, she sat on the purple square on the carpet, they did hand prints --and the teacher didn't even notice her wart on her hand :), they read Pete The Cat, a boy got a bloody nose, she played at recess, the teacher gave her 3 jelly beans, she got to put a sticker on her flower, a girl gave her a special flower to wear in her hair but she lost it, everyone in her class has a character backpack and she was the only one with a heart backpack, but that was cool because she was different, and lots more. I'm sooooo happy she loves school and had such a great first day. I have to admit I was very nervous for her and even parked my car and "spied" on her during recess to make sure she was ok. Good job Gracie Girl for being such a big girl on your first day of kindergarten!
